LIFI Volunteer
LIFI would like to invite you to join the 2010 Volunteer staff.
All volunteers are welcome but there is a particular need for volunteers with an expertise or a great disposition to work in the following areas:
·Office Support: heavy telephones, reception, filing, typing, organizational skills
· Production: production assistants.
· Film presentations: staging filmmaker’s panel, screenings and various events.
· Receptions/Special Events: set-up at sites, set-up catering, and coordination of special guests.
· Transportation: responsible drivers (with valid driver’s license and insurance) who will pick-up and welcome visiting Filmmakers/VIPs.
To become a volunteer you must volunteer a minimum of 20 hours and attend our scheduled volunteer orientation meeting.
What you can expect as a volunteer:
- You will have a rewarding experience while being treated with courtesy and respect.
- Although you will work hard, you can expect to have fun.
- Volunteer shifts run approximately 5 hours.
- You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how a festival is run and learn more about the entertainment business.
- You'll work with a team of professionals that enjoys movies just as much as you do.
- You'll have the opportunity to view films before they are released and some that may never be released at all.
- Volunteers will receive 1 film voucher for every 5 volunteered hours (excluding Galas) in appreciation of their efforts.
What we expect from volunteers:
- We expect you to arrive for your scheduled shift on time, dressed appropriately, and ready to work.
- We expect you to abide by our rules of conduct both on and off duty.
- We expect you to represent the Festival to the best of your abilities.
- We expect you to become familiar with the information in the LALIFF Guide.
- We expect you to treat everyone with respect.
- We expect you to work to your fullest capacity.
Bilingual volunteers are especially encouraged, but this is not a requirement.

Music concerts: productions assistants.
Film presentations: staging filmmaker’s panel, screenings and events.
Reception/Special events: set-up of sites, catering, and coordination of guests.
Transportation: responsible drivers who will welcome accompany visiting filmmakers/VIPs.
Office Support: telephone reception, filing, correspondence.
Bilingual volunteers are especially encouraged, but this is not a requirement. The Latino International Film Festival is a wonderful opportunity for you to participate in a community effort that promotes Latino culture, art and film in Los Angeles.
All volunteers will receive 2 movie passes/tickets for every 8 volunteered hours (excluding gala features) in appreciation for their efforts. Other incentives include a complementary shift meal, festival t-shirts and noteworthy networking opportunities.
